Welcome Dear Friends, On behalf of the Organising Committee and the Turkish branch of the WPSA, it is a great pleasure and honour to invite you to the 18th European Poultry Nutrition Symposium, which will be held in Çeşme, Turkey from 31 October to 4 November 2011. This symposium will provide a platform for the exchange of new ideas, information on Poultry Nutrition and for building up and strengthening professional relationships. Working Group No:2 is traditionally one of the major activities of the European Federation of WPSA. Çeşme symposium, like the past similar events will be a gathering where world-renowned scientists will share their knowledge, keep us abreast of the developments in Poultry Nutrition and show the way for the future research and practice. We are excited and look forward to host you in one of the beautiful cities of Turkey. We certainly feel privileged to welcome such a distinguished group of participants in Turkey. The location of the symposium, Çeşme, is a coastal town located at the very end of Western Anatolia and is surrounded on three sides by the Aegean Sea. It is a prominent centre of international tourism in Turkey, famous for its excellent holiday accommodations, restaurants and entertainment facilities. The social programmes will be an important aspect of the symposium as it will provide opportunities for the participants to interact with each other to exchange ideas and make new friendships. We look forward to welcoming you to Çeşme, Turkey in October 2011.

Prof. Dr. Rüveyde Akbay kimdir?
1939 Yozgat doğumlu Prof. Dr. Rüveyde Akbay, 1962 yılında Ege Ü. Ziraat Fakültesi Zootekni Bölümünden mezun oldu. Tavukçuluk Milli Komitesi, Tavukçuluk Teknik Kurulu, İpekböcekçiliği ve İpekçilik Milli Komitesi gibi mesleki kuruluşlarda yürütme kurulu üyeliği yaptı. Çeşitli ülkelerde konferans ve seminerlerde ülkemizi temsil etti. Prof. Dr. Akbay'ın Türkçe ve İngilizce 80'in üzerinde yayını bulunuyor. Tavukçuluk teknik kurulu üyeliğini ve Ankara Ü. öğretim üyeliği görevlerini sürdürüyor
Bilimsel Tavukçuluk Derneği Türkiye Şubesi hakkında
1973 yılında temeli oluşturulup 1977’de resmen kurulan Bilimsel Tavukçuluk Derneği, ülkemiz tavukçuluğunu yönlendiren derneklerden biridir. Türkiye Şubesi Başkanı Prof. Dr. Rüveyde Akbay, geçen dönem derneğin dünya başkanlığını yürütmüştür. Derneğin uğraşları 4 ana başlık altında toplanmaktadır: • Tavukçuluk bilim ve endüstrisi ile ilgili yeniliklerin izleyerek bu bilgiler bilim adamları, sektör mensupları ve tavukçulukla ilgili tüm kişi ve kuruluşların hizmetine sunar • Tavukçuluk bilimi, üretim teknolojisi ve tavukçulukla ilgili tüm konularda dünya ülkeleri arasında bilgi değişiminin sağlanması için uluslararası iletişim ağlarını oluşturur • Tavukçuluk konusunda her seviyedeki eğitime önderlik eder (sektöre eleman yetiştirilmesi) • Ülkemiz tavukçuluğunun geliştirilmesine katkıda bulunur.
